At the invitation of Busan’s Bukdu Chilseong Library, APL COLOR held a makeup class for adult women. The class was taught by an APL COLOR local deputy director — a beauty influencer and former artist for the global brand MAC — drawing on hands-on professional expertise.
The class was structured in three stages. In stage one, a proprietary colorimetry program extracted brightness (L), redness (a), and yellowness (b) values from multiple points on the skin to quantify its lightness and saturation. This was combined with an analysis of seven face shapes (oval, round, square, inverted triangle, diamond, peanut, and heart) to design a personalized makeup concept for each participant.
Stage two was devoted to reviewing the personal makeup pouches that students brought and matching them with the best items from among the dozens of foundations and color cosmetics prepared for the session. It was the segment that drew the highest satisfaction from participants. The stage-three practice covered contour makeup using shading, blusher, and pearl placement by face shape, along with eyebrow design and base application methods by skin type.
Every APL COLOR consultant holds the nationally certified Colorist Engineer qualification. To ensure diagnostic results carry over into everyday life, the company brings dozens of cosmetics on site — from drugstore brands to premium department-store lines — so that students can try them immediately.
